A year ago today, I got the honor of marrying my beautiful wife Dorothy.  Which means we lean on each other, lift each other up, love one another, treasure each other's company, believe in one another, and genuinely care for each other.

This past year has taught me, if anything, that as long as God remains a vital part at the center of our relationship, Dorothy and I can withstand just about anything.  That is not to say that we are the perfect couple, or that I am challenging you to a 'couple-off'.  I'm not saying that we are 'super-strong' and have 'figured it all out'.  I'm saying that we have gone through some extremely difficult times this year- outside forces and situations that have really put to test our faith in God and each other.  And proudly I can say that we have come out closer. To God. To family. To friends. and to each other.

We have learned things that could not be taught in marriage counseling, or read in a marriage book.  But possibly could be taught in a marriage counseling seminar.  Things like 'Cover Sharing 101', or 'You Are A Slob' (That's a breakout session for the guys) and 'Yes, He Is A Slob' (Breakout session for the girls).

But in all seriousness- God has truly blessed me in giving such a loving, caring, smart, beautiful woman to go through life with.  I wake up each and every day honored.
