Bio

Josh Williams is the worship pastor of Velocity Church in Taylors, South Carolina.  He lives in Greenville, South Carolina, with his wife, Dorothy, and two dogs, Batman and Baby.

I grew up in a Christian home, me father was a youth pastor.  At the age of 8, I was given dcTalk's album "Jesus Freak."  It really set a fire in my soul for music, and is what ultimately put the drive in me to pursue worship.

I have always been known as a "free-thinker", "creative", "spacey;" probably because my mind is always turning.  I enjoys seeing things from different vantage points- to see how and why you see something the way you do.  This interest in creativity has led me to writing, designing, directing, songwriting, and photography. It is my outlet.  Most of these creations end up here on the blog, and you are more than welcome to download them, critique them, use them to line the cages of your pet bird.  Just because one person views something in one way, doesn't mean it can't be viewed from another!

Growing up, I wanted to be a youth pastor, like my dad.  It made sense to me, because I was very hyper-active, and could always see myself relating with students.  I had no idea what God actually had in store for me.

I was given a guitar at the age of 17 by a friend, and began slowly teaching myself how to play 4 chords.  A year later, at Anderson University, I was in a band, writing songs for them.  My junior year of college, I realized that God had given me the gift of music, because- well,I'm not that smart, so for me to learn guitar this quickly was not something I had done, but God had done.  I realized also that because I was given this gift, it would be selfish to use it for my own gain.  I gave this gift back to God, to serve Him through music.



My goal as a worship leader person, is to glorify God in everything I do and with everything He has given me.
