Creative Collective is a site/ group about helping others create. In their words: "We are about helping people Create like they were Created"
They have put out a e-book- Creative Matters, well, a manifesto, on the subject of creativity and the church. I have not had a chance to read it yet, so I am not going to try to give a review, but I will when I'm done. It is a "call to arms," as they write, to create beautiful and inspiring things. God does that when He creates, so shouldn't the Church be a place where we try to be like God?
More often than not we find churches to be the place where creativity dies. Where ideas may start out good, but dwindle to something hum-drum because we believe we could not do that, the idea is not a possible reality. But here's the great thing- it is! And because as His Church we are His people, and as His people we should be showing the world that we are creative, that we strive to be like Him in all ways! And one of his ways is creativity!
I am not saying if you don't read this you aren't creative, aren't a follower of Christ, or aren't cool. But this is a chance to challenger your creativity, because, as they say in the first pages,
"Every time you create, you are incarnating a reflection of your Creator God. This is not a point to be taken lightly. Creating matters to God."
You can download the e-book here.
UPDATE: I just found out that the e-Book was written by Jarrett Stevens. I loved his book "The Deity Formerly Known As God"- a book about bad and good views of God. Stevens is the pastor of Soul City Church in Chicago
