The Power of Songs

What songs/ albums have really grabbed a hold of you lately?


This month has been.... well... it has been a month filled with trusting God, been tested and tried, and a month of relying on the love of friends and family.  And what I have noticed is the music I have listened to has coincided greatly with that.


I have listened mainly to a few artists: Will Hoge, Safetysuit, and Passion.  And each of them- I have listened to one song specifically.


From Will Hoge, I have listened to the song "Even If It Breaks Your Heart"- which is a storysong about the love of music, and how, once you get the music in you, you can't get it out.  How, no matter what- you continue pursuing music with joy.  


From Safetysuit, I have listened to the song "These Times Are hard"- a song about the times we live in, the obstacles we face, and the fact that things will get better.


From Passion, I have listened to, well, the whole album.  It is amazing.  But a song that sticks with me is "One Thing Remains", from Jesus Culture.  Our God never gives up on us. His love remains.  As the opening lines to the song go, "Your love never fails it never gives up it never runs out on me"  Right now, this is everything to me.   And because His love never fails and never gives up, I know that I can continue, that I won't give up.
